Pro Desktop Software
Pro takes your mapping to the next level. Pro enhances your mapping experience with multi-year yield averaging (also known as yield normalization), profit mapping, and formulas for creating prescription maps.
With normalizing of yield data, multiple years can be averaged to discover consistently high and low yielding areas. Users can select any combination of crop and/or year for the normalizing, excluding abnormal years, in order to visualize history zones in each field.
The profit mapping feature creates a layer for each crop enterprise year and integrates financial information with precision maps. For example, a user can view a profit map based on seed variety and variable rate application maps, along with yield. Costs can be manually entered for each input with the Trac and Site office software (programs that offer field records and mapping/GIS). When the Funds module (an integrated farmer-level accounting program) is used with Pro , "true" input costs from the checkbook will flow into the profit map. This offers increased financial accuracy with significantly less work. Pro makes it easy to find out what parts of your fields are making money and what precision farming practices are most profitable. No other software in the industry compares to the profit mapping in Pro.
Requirements:
- Trac and Site
- Microsoft Windows™ 2000 or higher (includes XP, Vista, and 7)
- 128 MB Memory
- 50 MB Hard Drive Space
Profit Mapping Features:
- Creates a layer for each crop enterprise year and integrates financial information with precision maps.
- The integration of Trac and Site (without Funds) allows users to assign values to the crops they are raising and costs to supplies, equipment and personnel.
- The integration of Funds allows farmers to use "true costs" on a profit map.
- Flat Expense View - combines all field operations (also known as jobs) that were entered manually or without precision maps and creates a single layer.
- Variable Expense View - combines all field operations (also known as jobs) with their precision maps and creates a single layer.
- Income View - shows income values on a single layer by using a imported yield map.
- Profit View - (Flat Expense + Variable Expense - Income) gives you a visual to see what parts of the field are making the most money and what precision farming practices are most profitable.
- Variety View - displays seed variety locations on a single layer.
Yield Normalization Features:
- Multiple years of yield maps can be averaged together to discover consistently high and low yielding areas of a field.
- Select any combination of crop and/or year to produce yield zones. As an example, you could have one normalized yield zone map for every crop year while having a separate zone map for all corn and another for all soybeans.
- Automated legend assigns average yielding areas a value of "100" (below average yielding areas are less than 100 and above average yielding areas are over 100).
- Calculated point size can be customized based on user preference.

Lexion Desktop Software / Surface Desktop Software
Surface provides a software surface and sub-surface drainage water management solution designed to be the perfect partner for the Trimble® FieldLevel II automated leveling system on the FmX™ integrated display.
Surface is a surface analysis and design tool that assists with the optimal placement of tile and surface drains. This helps drain the field adequately, and subsequently increases crop yields. Combine 3D views and water flow analysis tools to decide where surface ditches or subsurface tile lines should be installed to optimally drain the field, and ultimately increase crop yields. The powerful Farm Works software drawing tools also let you draw the lines right over the map on the screen. Drainage lines drawn on the screen then produce a vertical profile of the existing surface along any line. This allows the operator to quickly decide if the location of the design will be an ideal place to place a ditch, or install drainage pipe. It also tells the operator the amount of material required to complete the job.
Exporting these designs back to the FmX integrated display lets you use the Autoslope feature of the FieldLevel II system to design the vertical component of your surface or sub-surface designs by defining slope and depth constraints. This allows the FieldLevel II system to automatically instruct any drainage machine or implement to install in the right place, at the right depth and slope.
Requirements:
- Trac, Site, and Pro
- Microsoft Windows™ 2000 or higher (includes XP, Vista, and 7)
- 128 MB Memory
- 50 MB Hard Drive Space
Features:
- Carry out a topographic survey of the field using the FieldLevel II system on the FmX integrated display, and then import the survey to the Surface software. This allows the operator to use the existing survey workflow of the FieldLevel II system.
- View a 3D model of the field to gain a visual interpretation of the high and low spots. The model can be rotated, panned, zoomed, and the heights can be exaggerated to allow the operator to personalize the model and view it from any angle.
- Display contours either on the 2D or 3D view to help understand the height differences, and to assist with the drainage design. The operator can define the contour intervals to ensure the display is appropriate for any given field.
- Display a Watershed zone map to view where the surface water will go and where it will pool on the existing surface.
- View the surface geometry lines to quickly interpret all of the tributaries to any given watershed on the field.
- Display Water Flow Arrows to show the direction of water flow, allowing the operator to see which direction the water will flow at any point on the field.
- Decide where surface ditches or subsurface tile lines should be installed to optimally drain the field, and ultimately increase crop yields. The powerful Trac and Site software drawing tools also let you draw the lines right over the map on the screen.
- Drainage lines drawn on the screen then produce a vertical profile of the existing surface along any line. This allows the operator to quickly predict if the location of the design will be an ideal place to put a ditch or install drainage pipe.
- Exporting these designs back to the FmX integrated display lets you use the Autoslope feature of the FieldLevel II system to design the vertical component of your surface or sub-surface designs by defining slope and depth constraints. This allows the FieldLevel II system to automatically instruct any drainage machine or implement to install in the right place at the right depth and slope.

Farm Works Mobile
Farm Works® Mobile software streamlines data management in the field by bundling record keeping, mapping, scouting, soil sampling, and variable rate application into one software solution. The Mobile software operates on any field computer with the Windows Mobile®, Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, or Windows 7 operating system.
Data entry for field records can work independently or in conjunction with a GPS receiver to track planting dates, chemical and fertilizer usage, scale tickets, hybrid/variety location, weather, and more. Viewing the history of past hybrids, chemical applications, tillage practices, and yield is simple and efficient. Large buttons enable easy navigation, and the interface accommodates small screen displays.
You can also use GPS for field mapping. Map field boundaries, sampling zones, rocks, pivots, broken drainage tile, no spray zones, and other points of interest. Capture scouting attributes such as weed and insect types, notes, tile diameter, and images from a digital camera.
The Farm Works Mobile software is flexible enough to handle soil sampling by grid or by management zones. Use the navigational line to automatically connect the target points in the order they are numbered. Navigate to any point of interest using the compass or a 3D view of the map.
The software will connect to single or multi-product variable rate controllers that communicate through a serial cable. All files easily download into the Farm Works office software or convert into an ArcView shapefile for flexible data exchange with other mapping software. The Farm Works Mobile software will also connect to sensors for recording yield, conductivity, light reflectance, as-applied, and other data that can be downloaded in the Farm Works office suite or other third-party desktop software.
In addition, the Farm Works Mobile software is Trimble® Connected Farm™ system ready. Install the Farm Works Mobile software on a Connected Farm compatible mobile computer (such as a Trimble Juno® SC or Nomad® 800 XC handheld), to wirelessly send and receive data between the office and field. This system not only saves you valuable time from handling data for more than one location, but also improves your computerized field records, maps, and job reporting.
Requirements:
- GPS Receiver outputting NMEA data (optional for logging field records)
- Mobile computer installed with Microsoft® Windows Mobile, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
- 64MB RAM
